GRINTA FOR LIFE IS BECOMING A MOVEMENT
Jay Crain's true story of a midlife comeback — part memoir, part science, part manifesto for anyone who's lost track of who they used to be.
Co-written with fitness and wellness scientist Dr. Greg Welk, the book pairs Jay's raw personal narrative with the research that proves your body and brain are more adaptable than the story you've been telling yourself. The 4R Framework — Reconnect, Rewire, Rebuild, Reclaim — is a roadmap for reclaiming your identity when midlife tries to erase it.

DOWN 30 LBS. UP 4,000 MILES.
Gary Welk was in his fifties. Out of shape in the way midlife sneaks up on you — not all at once, just year after year of life taking priority over everything else. And he was living with atrial fibrillation, a heart condition he managed but never beat. It sat in the background of everything: his health, his energy, his sense of what his body could still do.
He wasn't new to bikes — some mountain biking, some bike-packing over the years. But real training? Structured miles, road cycling as a discipline instead of an occasional hobby? That was new. So was the framework he'd use to get there: G4L, built on the lived experience of co-founder Jay Crain, who coached Gary through it directly. Gary didn't just borrow the program. He lived it — the consistency, the fundamentals, the refusal to treat midlife as a finish line.

THE FILM BECAME A BOOK. THE BOOK BECAME AN APP. THE APP IS BECOMING A MOVEMENT.
GRINTA! film began as a midlife project for Jay Crain and his wife, Donna. The tale of pro cyclist Eros Poli, who recovered his identity to win a stage of the Tour de France, inspired the name of the G4L program — because grit and determination are at its core. Screenings anchor G4L’s social impact strategy.
