A MOVEMENT, AN APP, AND A COMMUNITY FOR MIDLIFERS.

G4L is a science and evidence-based program helping midlifers reclaim their identity and extend their healthspan.

FOUR PHASES. ONE COMEBACK.

The 4Rs are G4L’s repeatable Framework for adopting the Grinta mindset to finding your way back and reclaiming your identity in midlife. It isn’t a straight line or even a ladder. Because the person you Reclaim today might not be the person you’ll need to Reconnect with tomorrow. Life changes. The challenges change. The 4Rs adapt.

Reconnect

Excavate who you were before life told you who you had to be. See where you are clearly. Find that thing, and person, worth fighting for.

Rewire

Take apart the stories your mind tells you to keep you comfortable. Build new connections to find what's still possible. Use your grit to make it happen.

Rebuilt

The physical work: move, fuel, sleep. This is where you can see the numbers start to move.

Reclaim

Reclaim the identity that makes you, you and carry it back into the world every day.

THE SCIENCE

REAL, MEASURABLE, AND THE BACKBONE OF EVERYTHING.

Midlife Identity Loss isn't a metaphor—and Grinta for Life isn't a motivational framework with a coat of research painted on. The whole structure is built on evidence.

MEASURABLE

The ID Score comes from a validated assessment that turns "how far have I drifted?" into a number with four dimensions — physical, social, self, and outlook. So you're tracking instead of guessing.

WORKS THE WAY CHANGE STICKS

The framework rests on three established fields of learning science: Transformative Learning theory, for the arc of real identity change. Andragogy, for how adults actually learn — self-directed, not lectured at. Self-Determination Theory, for what makes new habits durable.

BACKED BY A LIFETIME OF WORK

Dr. Greg Welk, Distinguished Professor of Kinesiology at Iowa State University and Fellow of the National Academy of Kinesiology. 250+ peer-reviewed publications. Research funded by the NIH and CDC.

IT'S ALSO A FIRST OF ITS KIND STUDY

The G4L Community will support research through a longitudinal study based on IRB-certified surveys for lasting social impact and to help the broadest range of midlifers and those who love them.

THREE MINUTES A DAY. MORE GOOD YEARS. FOR LIFE.

Grinta for Life is helping midlifers reconnect with and reclaim their identity to live longer and better.

G4L is a program, a friend, a community, and when necessary, a hardass accountability partner helping you find the path back to being who you know you are, but thought you might never be again.

An AI companion that knows your whole story.

An always-on guide with the voice of a friend who’s been through it. Your G4L compantion remembers everything you've told it about who you're reclaiming, what started your Fade, and what you're fighting to win back.

The work, one step at a time. Built on science + experience.

A program anchored in Behavior Change, Self-Determination Theory, and lived experience. Your companion prompts you to answer questions that draw more out of you than sitting alone with a journal.

Your ID Score.

Your Identity Distance Score reflects the gap between where you are and where you want to be— and moves as you do the work to close it.

A community of peers who actually get it, and get you too.

Connect with people in the same chapter of life. G4L Community is a place to get or give advice, share challenges and wins. And, if you want, which songs you have on repeat.

THE FILM BECAME A BOOK. THE BOOK BECAME AN APP. THE APP IS BECOMING A MOVEMENT.

GRINTA! film began as a midlife project for Jay Crain and his wife, Donna. The tale of pro cyclist Eros Poli, who recovered his identity to win a stage of the Tour de France, inspired the name of the G4L program — because grit and determination are at its core. Screenings anchor G4L’s social impact strategy.
